Serving Alameda and neighboring cities since 1881, St. Joseph Elementary School embraces the principles of learning, loving and living God's word as Jesus taught us. We are dedicated to educating and nurturing the whole child by offering a time-honored and challenging Catholic education. Inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church and driven by the spirit of effective collaboration, we join together as a diverse community to know Jesus and to make Him known. Since 1881, we have served families in Alameda and surrounding communities. We are a fully accredited kindergarten through eighth grade school dedicated to providing an outstanding Catholic education in a safe and secure environment. In addition to a strong curriculum in religion, mathematics, social studies, science, and language arts, our students also participate in art, music, and physical education classes. We have a full-time Director of Technology who works with teachers to integrate technology across the curriculum. Our extended care program is open before and after school as a service to our families. Our students also have opportunities to participate in the celebration of the Mass and reception of sacraments. We provide opportunities for our students to actively participate in Christian service to the school, the parish, and the greater community. In our goal to educate the whole child, we also offer opportunities for our students to participate in sports programs through the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) and the East Bay Parochial League (EBPL). We invite you to come and see the great things that are happening at St. Joseph Elementary School. |
