Rosary School are making an impact on the world both near and far. Our school’s educational mission is realized each and every day in the lives of our students and in the personal and professional lives of our alumni.
Holy Rosary School is a Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade Catholic school educating families in the Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley, and
Discovery Bay areas.  Holy Rosary is dedicated to providing a quality Catholic education with a highly motivated faculty/staff and a high level of parental involvement. Our students benefit from a strong core curriculum supplemented with a state of the art technology program, music, P.E., art, and Spanish.

The school was built in 1952 on land in part purchased with the proceeds of many years of annual Fall Festivals and St. Patrick’s Day card parties held by the parishioners of Holy Rosary Church. Father William Lewis, O.P.,  oversaw the constructiion of the much needed parochial school. A successful campaign for building funds made it possible to start the school’s construction in 1954, with the first class – grades one through three – being held in the fall of 1955. Additional construction to the school occurred in 1957, and again in 1959, with full enrollment being achieved in 1960. The school was staffed by the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Dominic, Congregation of the Most Holy Name of San Rafael, California (commonly known as the San Rafael Dominicans) until 1985, when religious communities were expanding to other ministries.

The Parents Guild was formed in 1955 to assist with the needs of the students and the school. During the fall of 1975, the first Holy Rosary School Board was established. The school library was added in 1979, under the direction of Sister Maria Foraboshi. Sister Elizabeth Ambrosi initiated the first Kindergarten in 1985, with Father Jerry Dybdal carrying out implementation the following September. Under the direction of Mrs. Carol Arritola, a new playground with play equipment was completed. In 1990, pre-kinder and Extended Care programs began, and a second First Grade class was added to the enrollment. Holy Rosary School’s principal, Miss Patricia McBride, added a science and computer laboratory in 1991, and classes continued to double until a stable enrollment was achieved in 1996. Six portable classrooms were added to accommodate the increase in the school enrollment. Susana Lapeyrade-Drummond became the principal in 1997. Under her leadership a major remodeling of the school and courtyard took place. Susana also has brought many aspects of modern technology the school enjoys today.
