New email/web Settings for csdo
csdo.org has moved to an off site service.
A few facts about this move:
- The website is still located at http://www.csdo.org
- Webmail stays virtually the same and can be found at http://webmail.csdo.org
- Existing email addresses remain the same (@csdo.org)
- New email addresses will end @csdo.org
- Passwords could not be transferred and are set back to the default (ask your tech coordinator or principal)
- Old mail will not be on the new server, but once things settle down at the new offices, we hope to make the old mail messages (that were left on the server) available for download. When that will happen is yet to be determined.
- You may change your password and change your SPAM filter settings by going to http://cp.aplus.net. Enter your email address and current password for access.
- To get instructions to setup os x mail see http://www.apluskb.com/scripts/How_do_I_configure_Mac_answer3574.html
If you already have an account setup, you can adjust a few settings to get back on line (without creating a whole new account):
- Ensure incoming mail server is mail.csdo.org and outgoing is smtp.csdo.org
- Add @csdo.org to any username entries (so user name is no longer "bsmith" but "bsmith@csdo.org", for example)
- Adjust password to match either the current default or whatever you changed it to by going to http://cp.aplus.net.
- Change smtp (outgoing mail) port to 465 and ensure ssl (use secure socket layer) is selected.
- Authentication should be set to password (both incoming and outgoing)
All of the above settings can be found in Preferences->Accounts in Os X Mail
- For Outlook and Outlook Express settings see http://www.apluskb.com/scripts/What_are_the_correct_email_answer2934.html
